ABOUT US

WHO ARE WE?

The X LeVeL is a youth basketball program, with a primary focus on development.  We guide our athletes on the four pillars of our mission statement:  Health & Wellness, Academics, Leadership and Giving Back to Our Communities.  We believe that these four pillars will develop young athletes on and off the court.  We stress that each player learns balance between home, school and athletics.

We compete in local leagues and travel throughout the state of Florida, as well as states in the southern region.  Since we focus on young athletes, we have a clear understanding that they are developing on multiple fronts, therefore we encourage them to believe in our four core principles, to aid them as they grow and mature.

Our Core Principles

Believe in a Higher Power.

Believe in Myself.

Believe in My Team.

Have Fun.

WHAT WE DO?

The X LeVeL coaching staff focuses on developing basketball players that are still trying to hone their mental and physical game.  We understand that players will grow and develop at different rates, so we take to the time to understand the player’s goals and aspirations, as we help them come up with a plan to reach their next level.  By strengthening a players mental, physical and communication skills, we believe that a player can grow on and off the court.

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS?

The X LeVeL coaching staff's focus is to prepare a young player for life on and off the court.  We have chosen basketball as our medium to reach out to our local community to teach leadership, discipline and hardwork.

WHAT IS THE NEXT LEVEL?

The X LeVeL's definition of the next level varies per player.  Some players just want to play for fun, while some want to progress to higher levels of competition.  Our staff helps young players understand what is necessary to attain their next level.

Elementary School players - Fundamentals and FUN.  At this age, the players are still learning the game and developing physically and mentally.  Therefore, the expectations are focused on the basics.  Players work on listening and executing directions, team work and basic communication.

Middle School players - Fundamentals, game situations, and FUN.  At this age, the players continue to hone their basic skills.  Many players at this age have not had any organized game play or formal coaching, therefore this group of players could have a wide range of talent and skill.  We stress the fundamental foundation, as we begin introducing how these fundamentals apply in game situations.  For those players who intend on trying out for their middle school or freshmen basketball in high school, we begin preparing them with advance drills and more game situations.  The expectations progressively grow for each player, based on goals and development.

High School players - Fundamentals, advance game situations, and FUN.  At this age, the game has sped up tremendously and it will only get faster, therefore the fundamentals are essential to a player's success.  We begin focusing on the missing gaps in the a players game, and helping them plug it in game situations.

We do not guarantee a players success at try outs, but we can promise that if they apply what they have been taught, they will be prepared.
